Privacy Policy

1. In general

This privacy policy applies to AK Trading, a Danish company, located in Transitvej 12, DK 6330 Padborg, Denmark. When you visit our website, we process personal information about you as described below. We act as data controller in this connection, and you can direct inquire regarding the processing of your personal data to us as described below or via info@ak-trading.com.

Protecting your privacy is very important to AK Trading. We only collect and use your personal data within the framework of the Danish Data Protection Legislation and the EU Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR), which is incorporated into Danish law. When we use terms such as ”personal data”, ”processing”, ”data controller” and “ data processor”, these terms have the meaning given in the data protection legislation.

2. What information, for what purpose and on what basis?

Information about your purchase: When you purchase goods or services on our website ak-trading.com/SE/NO/FI or from our members’ stores, we process the personal information that you provide to us, such as your name, your contact information (including address, email and telephone number) as well as payment information. We collect and process this information in order to provide goods and services to you, process return goods and manage your account on our website (if you have created an account).  

In addition, we use your personal information to send notifications of when a product is in stock, to process your assessment of our customer service, to notify you if you have won an online competition in which you have participated, or to contact you if there are delivery problems with your order. We can also analyze purchases within different customer groups. In particular, we will process information about your reviews of our products and services if you participate in our customer satisfaction surveys; information of your identity will be encrypted and will not be made public and will only be shared with our data processors. We do this to develop product offerings and pursue our legitimate interest in developing our products and services.  

The information is processed partly because it is necessary to fulfill an agreement with you, and partly because it is necessary to pursue our legitimate interest in communicating with you in an effective way and thus to provide the highest level of service to our customers. Although we do not base this processing on your consent, you may contact us at any time if you have any questions, and you may request that we terminate your processing of your personal information. Direct marketing based on your consent: if you have given your consent, we may use your email address and telephone number to send you newsletters and marketing material tailored to you. Thus, we can target our offers to you based on the information we have, including information on your past purchases as well as demographic information such as gender, date of birth and address (profiling). You may revoke your consent at any time and object to such profiling via ”my page” by contacting us as set out below or by unsubscribing from the newsletter you receive from us.

3. Who we share your information with

We may share your information with our partners and other group companies, our logistics partners who deliver your goods to your home, repair providers, IT solution providers, analysis and marketing services providers, accounting firms, payment service providers where you can pick up your goods. In addition, we will not share your personal information with third parties unless required by law or unless we have your explicit consent.    

4. Transfer of your information

We store your personal information on servers that are securely located within the EU/EEA. Since we value data protection very much, we do not transfer your personal data to countries outside the EU/EEA and all our data processors are subject to strict confidentiality obligations regarding your personal data. However, in certain circumstances, your personal data may need to be transferred to non-EU/EEA countries, and if so, we will ensure that the data transfer is subject to the required measures; for example, standard contracts adopted by the European Commission or the EU-US Privacy Shield. You may request a copy of any such security by contacting us as described below.

5. Storage and deletion

AK Trading deletes your personal information when all purposes for that particular processing of personal data have been fulfilled and when deletion is permitted under applicable law.

For example, we delete information about your profile on ”my page” when account is deleted, while the account contact information and invoice information is kept for five years so that we can handle future inquiries and comply with applicable accounting laws. We will delete or anonymize information about your purchased items after five years from the date of purchase, unless you have signed up for ”my site” and have chosen to store your purchase history there. You can request access to the deletion of your personal information through our website or by contacting us as described below. If you wish to have deleted, changed, transferred, restricted or sent the personal data we store about you, you can request this at info@ak-trading.com 

6. Rights

You have the right, upon request, to gain access to your personal data we hold or otherwise process about you. You also have the right to correct any inaccurate personal data and in certain circumstances you have the right to restrict our processing of your personal data or require us to delete your personal data. You may revoke your consent at any time, which forms the basis for the processing of your personal data (as described above), without prejudice to the legality of processing of the processing which was based on consent prior to the withdrawal thereof.

You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data, and under the EU Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) you can request that your personal data be received in a structured and commonly used format so that the personal data can be easily transferred to you or another data controller chosen by you ( this is called “data portability”).

If you wish to complain about our processing of your personal data you are encouraged to contact us. Any inquires in this regard should be submitted as set out above in this Privacy Policy. We also inform you that under the legislation you are entitled to file a complaint with the Data Inspectorate.  

7. Updates and changes to our Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy will be updated on an ongoing basis. When we post changes to the Privacy Policy, we will indicate the date which the Policy was last updated. If any significant changes are made to this policy or to how we use your personal information, we will make visible such changes or notify you directly.

8. Request for personal information and contact information

If you wish to have deleted, changed, transferred, restricted or sent the personal data we store about you, you can request this at info@ak-trading.com.

It is of course also possible for you to be identified by meeting in person at our head office, just as it is also possible to send an email, call our customer center or send a letter to the head office.
